Masonic Lapel Pin Processes

Hard enamel Masonic Lapel Pins

The greatest perceived value with a jewelry-like finish. They are the most traditional and ornamental pins available. The Cloisonne Color application process is said to be so durable that it will last for more than a 100 years without fading. All the colors are made from mineral ore and ground into a fine powder before coloring. The colors must be fired at temperature of 800 degrees centigrade in order to become molten and then cooled to normal room temperature. Usually pins are fired once after each color painted to ensure the colors do not bleed. The Cloisonne Hard enamel Masonic pins are the most expensive because of the labor some procedures; sophisticated skills and time consuming in production required to product a 1st class lapel pin.. Let us be your supplier for your Masonic Lapel Pins. Photo Etched Masonic Lapel Pins

Lighter weight and are approximately 0.8mm thick brass, photo etching is a good choice for large sized designs or for pins with flashing lights inlaid. It is cheaper and lighter than die struck soft enamel pins while colors can be as multiple as die struck soft enamel pins. But photo etching cannot be made in 3D cubic because all the motifs are etched with chemical acid, the depth is shallow. With techniques improved nowadays, we can fulfill more complicate designs. Epoxy covering is optional at request.

Die struck Iron soft enamel Masonic Lapel Pins look almost the same as the bronze soft enamel because the production procedures are very similar. Some customers like iron soft enamel Masonic Lapel Pins instead of copper soft enamel Masonic Lapel Pins because brass and copper prices being somewhat higher. In order to tell the difference between copper and brass soft enamel Masonic Lapel Pins and iron soft enamel Masonic Lapel Pins. Use a magnet; if the pin sticks to the magnet, it is iron soft enamel; if not, it is copper or brass soft enamel. This is the easiest way to tell the difference. You can also check the metal area on pins, if it is rough surface that is iron material; if it is shiny, that is copper. Because we don't polish iron soft enamel actively unless customer request for it and are willing to pay more cents too. If iron pins have been polished, it is really difficult to tell the difference between each other. You might also check the finishing. We use bronze electro plating to simulate gold or nickel to simulate silver for reducing unit price, if the plating is not yellow as gold, it may be iron soft enamel.

Die struck Masonic Lapel Pins

Produced using the soft enamel process is an extremely popular lapel pin due to its raised metal features. Soft enamel Masonic Lapel Pins can be plated in gold, silver, bronze, and a variety of other finishes to meet your Masonic lapel pin needs. The lapel pin colors are individually filled by hand with enamel colors and baked for proper color distribution. Soft enamel Masonic Lapel Pins can be coated with a protective layer of epoxy for a more durable finish. Off Set printed Masonic Lapel Pins

These pins are usually easy to recognize because they have no metal borders separating the colors. We have two kinds of printed pins, offset printing and silkscreen printing. Usually the artwork will determine which process to use.

Offset printing is also called 4 color process printing (Yellow/ Magenta/ Cyan & Black), no matter how many colors involved in the art, we only charge for 4 colors if there is no metal border visible, or 5 colors if metal border is necessary on the edge, the extra color is for the white background color.
Generally, if the pins are produced using offset printing, there should be no PMS because we will use CMYK to present the colors.

Silkscreen printed Masonic Lapel pins

These pins can have as many colors as your wish and the colors can be matched to your instruction from the Pantone color chart, but the more color you have the more set up fees you will incur. Generally speaking, it is solid color printing, each block or area with only one color.

It is easy to recognize the screen printed Masonic Lapel pins, when you find there is no metal border to separate 2 different colors, that is printed pins. But we also have 2 kinds of printing, one is Offset printing and the other is silkscreen printing, usually it is the art or motifs you offered determine which one we should use.
